Professional Consultation

People practicing polyamory and other forms of responsible non-monogamy are becoming more visible and are openly accessing professional services more than ever before. Are you prepared to work with people whose relational orientation differs from yours? Are you aware of your own personal bias in these areas? I am a professional from within the polyamorous community. I have lived the lifestyle and have presented on the topics of polyamory, swinging, and non-monogamy for several years. I would be happy to consult on specific cases or offer you a broad education on what makes this population unique and what to watch for.

In these days of "50 Shades of Gray," the numbers of people interested in, experimenting with, and openly identifying as long-term practitioners of BDSM are skyrocketing. Mental health and marriage counselors are also aware that the most recent version of the DSM has just depathologized BDSM, so more people are seeking services, hoping they won't be wrongly criticized or pathologized by their helping professioals. I am both a member of this community as well as a presenter on BDSM related topics and can share with you a broad overview of the population and what issues they most often experience. I can also consult with you on specific cases.

We will sign confidentiality agreements when we work together, so that you can be assured that I maintain strict adherence to therapist-levels of confidentiality myself. The identity of your clients will never be sought.
